Diggers Hotline of Nebraska

If you are planning a project that requires digging, state law requires you to call the Diggers Hotline of Nebraska at 1-800-331-5666.
This is a free service designed to protect utility lines from damage and to protect the general public from major injury or even death that can result from coming into contact with underground utility lines. You can also visit the Diggers Hotline Website at www.ne-diggers.com

City Government Presentations
at Seward High School

11th grade students in Mr. Jackman's American Government class will welcome City of Seward employees into their classrooms on Tuesday, February 9. The Mayor and representatives from three City departments (Fire & Rescue, Police and Recreation) will be visiting the classes to talk about their jobs and answer student questions.

Siren Testing
The E911 Communications Center will conduct siren testing for the tornado sirens on the 1st Monday of every month unless that day falls on a holiday. If that happens, the siren testing will be done on the first Tuesday of each month. This is done to ensure that our tornado sirens are working in the event of an actual tornado. During the testing, the sirens will only sound for a 30-45 second period, they will not go the full three minutes as they do for an actual tornado.
