| The Lied Senior Center, at 1010 Manor Drive W, has equipment available the year around to help seniors stay fit. The exercise room is equipped with two treadmills, an exercise bike and two power riders. These machines are very popular and available to seniors, free of charge, on Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., except on days when the Center is scheduled to be closed or during exercise classes.
Exercise classes are offered to seniors, free of charge, on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Video tapes, especially targeted for seniors, lead participants through a complete workout that can be followed while in a seated position or standing. These are designed to improve muscle tone, joint flexibility and balance.
Some of the tapes enjoyed by participants are Senior Fitnessize, Fitness After Sixty, Exercise Is The Fountain of Youth, Exercise Levels 1, 2 and 3 from Lutheran Hospital - LaCross, and Fit and Fabulous, a program from the Lincoln Area Agency on Aging. These tapes, along with enjoyable fellowship, make exercising a fun experience.
